Description

This an acrylic on canvas painting by artist Bharat Tripathi that depicts the episode of the killing of Jatayu by Ravana. In this skillful rendering, one can see the contorted form of Jatayu in the foreground with the faint silhouette of Ravana in the background whose hand is raised to strike down Jatayu. This is an episode from the Aranya Kand or the third chapter of the Ramayana.

This painting is a part of the Ramayana Series by the artist and was displayed in an exhibition at the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi in November 2015.
