Abhishek Joshi
Abhishek Joshi hails from Shahpura, Bhilwara district, Rajasthan, born in 1975. He completed his education at MDS University in 1975. He has been practising the art of Phad since 1984. His father was also a Phad artist. Seeing his father, Abhishek Joshi was intrigued by the art form. His father became his first teacher, and his initiation into the art tradition began in his school days. He does not limit his art to the traditional subjects of art. Through his paintings, he tries to spread awareness about various pressing social issues, such as 'Save the girl child'. Currently, he is affiliated with Chitran Kala Sewa Sansthan, Shahpura, Bhilwara, and Rajasthan. Major Awards: 1. First Position in State online competition by Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, 2020 2. First Position in Online International Art Relay 2020 by Russia-India Selected for Exhibitions, Fairs, Workshops, and Cultural Exchanges 1. One goes through many ups and downs in life. To reach the top they have to go through many struggles and hardships in life. Taking this concept, the artist shows the life journey of Lord Ganesha showing how he got the honour of being worshipped first. The painting shows Lord Ganesha in bright red colour signifying his current form and the background, made using coffee shows his life story and the story of how he became the elephant god.
