Mithila Painting on khadi Kaveri Singh

Mithila Painting on khadi Kaveri Singh

Mithila painting has its roots in the Ramayana period. At that time Janak was the king of Mithila. After breaking Shiva’s bow, which was a condition for the wedding, Janaka’s daughter Sita was married to Ram. Madhubani is a folk art of Mithila that brings the cultural traits of Mithilanchal to the canvas. It is said that Madhubani has existed since the time of Ramayana. Legend has it that Ram and Sita saw each other for the first time in the forest of Madhuban. The word ‘Madhubani’ is a derivative of Madhu Van.

About The Artist

Kaveri is the founder of the Khadi rebellion and has completed her diploma in fashion and wants to promote khadi.

The Workshop Began

Kaveri greeted all the participants and thanked the host for the lovely introduction. She first drew all the designs on the khadi cloth with a black pen and then continued to paint them with orange and green colors. She drew four loti and a branch of tree, leaves, and elephant trunk.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Kaveri made an artistic and beautiful Mithila painting with fine detailing as it looked beautiful. All the participants appreciated her Mithila painting and showed their co-created paintings to her. The host thanked Kaveri for teaching the art form.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
