Pottery Experience
Hosted by
Garima Negi
About this experience
This experience brings you into the grounded world of pottery where clay, movement and repetition shape each form. At the residence studio of Garima Negi the process begins with an introduction to the fundamentals, allowing the material to guide the pace. Clay is centred on the wheel, pressed, lifted and formed through steady hands. The session reveals how small adjustments change the shape and balance of the piece. Garima’s fourteen years of practice show in the calm, measured way she demonstrates each step. A simple pottery form is created during the session, offering a quiet look into a craft that thrives on touch, patience and rhythm. What it Covers • An introduction to pottery and the basic principles that guide clay shaping • A look at wheel work and hand movements used to form stable structures • Insight into how moisture, pressure and timing influence the final shape • Exposure to trimming and refining methods that bring clarity to the piece • An understanding of how traditional and contemporary pottery approaches merge in practice
