Anwar Chitrakar (born 1980) is a distinguished Patua artist from a traditional lineage, trained by his father, Amar Chitrakar. He began his career at 20 despite financial challenges, determined to innovate by blending classic techniques with modern influences, such as using natural pigments like turmeric, marigold, and lamp soot for black. His art has been showcased internationally at events like the Berlin Festival and Namaste India Festival and is featured in prestigious collections like the Victoria & Albert Museum and Mumbai International Airport.
