Durga Face Art Workshop By Sounak Ghosh
Devi Durga is considered as the feminine epitome of strength. The glory of the goddess Durga justifies her name to the core. To express gratitude towards Durga Maa people started creating Durga face art during the Durga Puja festival. This art form encapsulated the fierceness and strong aura of Maa Durga’s face. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this beautiful art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a Durga Face Art Workshop and invited Sounak Ghosh.
Sounak Ghosh, mostly known for his Folk Art & Mythological Paintings, is an Indian Artist based in Kolkata. His significant works include The Ganesha & The Majestic Board Game, which are in Chicago, US. Recently his artwork was featured in Desi Australia, a leading South Asian Magazine. He specialises in Pencil Sketch, Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Watercolour, and Digital Illustration.
Durga Face Art Workshop Began
Sounak Ghosh commenced the workshop with a warm welcome to the attendees. After that, he started with sketching the face of Maa Durga. He elaborately and clearly explained one step at a time so that the attendees could follow.
Sounak also shared some hacks and techniques of making the face of goddess Durga look more realistic. He also monitored every attendees performance at each step and shared his feedback.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
Towards the end Sounak explained the painting process in detail so that the attendees could carry on with the artwork even after the workshop. He explained the colour combination used, the materials to opt for and how to start with the painting. The workshop ended with everyone showcasing their beautiful Durga Maa face sketch.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
