Virendra Bannu ji’s journey as a miniature artist is deeply rooted in tradition, legacy, and artistic excellence. Being a 7th generation artist, he began painting at a young age, learning from his family the delicate techniques and iconography that define traditional Indian miniature painting. Over the years, his meticulous brushwork and mastery over natural pigments have earned him recognition on national and international platforms. He was honoured with the National Award for Handicrafts by the Government of India, a recognition of his lifelong dedication and contribution to Indian heritage arts. His work was published in the international publication of a book named ‘Jaipur Gem of India’. In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted his miniature painting of Guru Nanak to the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. Virendra Bannu is an active participant in lecture demonstrations, art camps, and workshops. With first-class BFA and MFA degrees in Painting, this master artist's work and commitment to preserving miniature art tradition has been widely celebrated.
