With an artistic lineage tracing back to the revered Humayun lineage, Mohammed Luqman stands as a 5th-generation miniature artist from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Despite an initial lack of enthusiasm for the craft, an encounter with the tutelage of a guru, Manchand Saraf ignited an unquenchable passion within Luqman. Drawing wisdom from a paternal wellspring of knowledge, his father was not only a forebear of the art but also a teacher.

Luqman’s oeuvre has garnered recognition, including showcases at Delhi, Hyderabad, Udaipur and Jodhpur as well as honours such as the Udyog Kendra accolade and the distinguished State Award presented to him by Ashok Gehlot in 2008. He also received recognition from the Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal, in appreciation of his artwork displayed at railway stations.

Having garnered over 40 years of experience, Luqman imparts his expertise through workshops at institutions like Kanpur University, Jaipur, and Udaipur, along with guiding a cadre of 4-5 students. His mission remains resolute: the preservation of the storied Kota Bundi tradition, which manifests through palace and temple depictions.
