Vintage Journaling Workshop with Sakshi Jain

Art Journaling is a visual diary, it’s record-keeping combined with creativity! It’s a place to record your thoughts, memories, and emotions through images, art, and words. The number one rule about Art Journaling is that, there are NO rules. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Sakshi Jain.

Sakshi is an Engineer turned artist. She makes eye-catching spreads in journals that describe her feelings and thoughts. She loves creating visual art that speaks a person’s heart. She was always filled with a passion for art inside her but was hesitant to showcase it to the world. Finally one year  back, she started her own page @journal.junks and has received nothing but continuous appreciation. She believes that journaling does not have any rules. Journaling has no right or wrong. You don’t have to be an artist to do journaling, all you have to do is express your feelings in visual form which you can reminiscence later on as memories. Journaling is like a therapy where you can forget about everything else and just be you!

Vintage Journaling Workshop Began

The workshop began with a short introduction of Sakshi Jain. She shared the therapeutic benefits of Journaling. Next,She expounded about the materials to select for this art form while giving a gist of what is to be expected from the workshop. Sakshi also showcased and described some of her different styles of Vintage Journals.

Sakshi started with her vintage journaling and explained each step of the process in elaborate and detailed manner. She showed how to paste the magazine, newspaper cutouts. She even kept an open discussion for any queries from the attendees.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Towards the end of the workshop Sakshi shared a lot of hacks and tips. She was very excited and happy to see the attendees engrossed in their artwork and following the instructions carefully. At the end of the workshop everyone had a beautiful journal to take away with themselves.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
