Wet On Wet Oil Painting Workshop with Manju Chabra

Wet on wet oil painting

In ancient times, early man combined animal fat with soil to form oil paints in Southern Europe.

The oldest oil paintings are Buddhist murals in Bamiyan, Afghanistan created in 650 AD. Jan Van Eyck was a Flemish painter who lived in the 15th century. He mixed linseed oil and nut oil with various colors. Alkyd resins mixed with vegetable oils provided great success to Jackson Pollock and Picasso. In the 1980s, chemists worked out to change linseed to hydrophilic.

If you are one of them, the Circle Community’s Wet On Wet Oil Painting Workshop with Manju Chabra is all you need. The session is purely crafted for creative minds to get an idea of the art form and be able to present them responsibly.

About the Artist:-

Painting rejuvenates and makes Manju Chabra happy. Since 2014 due to Majnu’s ability to paint conceptual art and immense commitment she has been able to excel in creating, training and teaching. She has participated in various art exhibitions like the Prerna-Airport Authority of India and the Northeast Festival. She has done various sketching and sculpting projects under ‘morethanart.in.’

The workshop began:-

The workshop began with the host introducing Manju and the artist narrating her journey. She explained the benefits of canvas sheets and a list of materials required. She started drawing the objects in the painting using black color. She started making brush impressions using blue and yellow colors. She added many colors to paint the surface below the trees. Using the dry brush she textured the surface with various colors. She further painted highlights with white.

Towards the end of the workshop:-

Towards the end of the workshop, Manju gave various tips for doing oil painting. The attendees loved the bright colors involved in the painting.

The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
