Watercolour Painting Workshop with Debolina Majumdar Yadav

Watercolour Painting

Watercolor is a painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-based solution. It is one of the most fun and relaxing art form. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special Watercolour Painting Workshop and invited Debolina Majumdar Yadav.

Debolina is a software engineer by profession and an artist by passion. Her artistic journey began when she was just 5 years old. She took professional help for the same but her classes were discontinued due to her studies and job. She is a watercolour artist but has experimented with different mediums like oil painting, acrylic painting and so on.

Watercolor Painting Workshop Began

The Watercolour Painting Workshop started with a brief introduction to Debolina. Debolina begins to roughly sketch on the A3 sized paper along with giving instruction to the attendees. She also lists down the colours which were to be of use in the painting.

Moving further, Debolina suggested keeping two tumblers of water as colours were to be used repetitively and the water becomes untidy. Furthermore, she explained how to make a very thin layer of colour on the paper and add different colours for a transaction effect.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

The workshop was very interactive and interesting. There were a lot of queries from the attendees to learn more about the technique of using brushes for watercolour painting. All the queries were answered by Debolina very clearly. She also helped the attendees to understand how to add tiny details in the painting and add shadow. The Watercolour Painting Workshop ended with everyone showcasing their beautiful artworks.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, we take your leave. See you next time!
