The Embroidery Workshop with Preksha Patwa

The Thread Saga Workshop with Preksha Patwa

Embroidery is a thread craft that uses thread and needle on a plain fabric to sew and apply beautiful designs. Aari embroidery is a traditional embroidery design popular in India along with Lucknowi Chikankari, Kasuthi, and Phulkari. Many of us have memories from embroidery classes in our elementary school and have gotten the amazing patterns stitched from our mothers and grandmothers for grades. You can surely now learn this old-school embroidery from the comfort of your home.

The Circle Community conducted a knowledgeable embroidery workshop with artist Preksha Sawant.

About the artist

Preksha Patwa is a creative artist who makes embroidery masks, embroidery frames, and Embroidery hoops. She showcases her art and creativity on Instagram as the_thread_saga.

And the workshop began

The workshop began on a good note as Preksha beautifully gave pieces of learning and taught the attendees the tricks and methods while creating new designs. She worked on an embroidery design of hers that had some lovely flowers and leaves. Preksha interestingly explained the steps in a simple manner, keeping the participants focussed while working on their creations.

Towards the end of the workshop

The attendees had a lovely time learning about embroidery making and polishing their creative and artistic skills. The attendees were from different parts of the country and were enthusiastic during the session.

The participants from various age groups happily showed their embroidery skills and learned the art form in a very short period. The host asked Preksha to pose for a group picture and concluded the fun workshop.

On this note, here‘s us signing us off until next time.
