Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Terrarium Making Workshop With Vinita Misra

Terrarium Making Workshop

Terrarium Making Workshop: A Terrarium is like an aquarium for plants instead of fishes. In a big glass bowl, one can create a mini garden or even a forest for that matter. To encourage the circle members to plant more trees and get them closer to nature, Rajasthan Studio curated a Terrarium Making Workshop and invited Vinita Misra. Born and brought up in a small town in Bihar, Vinita has always been close to nature. She studied fashion design at NIFT Delhi and spent 20 years in the big metropolitan cities of India. Then Vinita decided to listen to her heart and help Urban citizens to get closer to nature which requires low maintenance.

The Terrarium Making Workshop Began

Vinita began the workshop and explained the kind of glass bowl or jar required to create a mini garden. Along with that she also suggested succulent plants that can be used in the mini gardens. For those who were trying their hand for the first time at gardening, Vinita explained the planting mechanism. Starting from preparing the drainage, sand, soil, she even shared tips on how much water and sunlight is needed by the plants.

All 46 attendees took great interest in hearing what Vinita had to explain. They asked questions about how the plants have to be watered and the amount of sunlight required. Vinita patiently answered all the queries patiently. Then she explained the process of preparing the soil and creating different layers of sand and soil in the glass bowl.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Towards the end of the workshop, Vinita decorated her Terrarium with colourful pebbles and miniature hut and Deer. Most of the attendees worked on their Terrarium along Vinita. Others observed and wrote down the tips for creating their Terrarium. All the attendees were happy with the gardening tips they got from Vinita and were looking forward to making more Terrariums.

The attendees belonged to different parts of the country and different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a colourful and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off, until next time!
