String Art or thread art can be created with the arrangement of coloured strings forming a pattern with nails. This is a fairly new form of art that many people have discovered to be simple yet intricate.
About The Artist
Alveena is just 18 years old and a college student from Bhopal. She likes to express herself through creativity and work on a number of innovative ideas. She has always been interested in arts and crafts and wants to explore more in this field. She always tries to learn something new and this year she came across string art.
The Workshop Began
Alveena first stated all the materials required to begin- woodblock, hammer, nails, reference image printout, and tape. She started off by taping the reference image of a feather onto the wooden block. Then she went ahead to hammer nails across the outline of the feather. It is a process that requires safety precautions as it might harm your fingers.
She used three shades of threads, namely dark blue, light blue, and white. Starting off from the bottom with the dark blue shade, she used a criss-cross pattern and filled up the empty spaces between the nails in a geometric pattern.
In between the patterns, she pressed down the strings to avoid any gaps. She moved on to light blue and finally white for the top of the feather. Finishing up, she gave a border to the feather. This art is quite time-consuming but satisfying to do.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
As it required many materials to create such an art, the attendees took note of the steps to be followed and very few were able to co-create. It was a very new topic for all and everyone was thrilled to experience it.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
