Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Stippling Workshop by Arpita Dey

Art does not have a definite structure when it comes to sketching or painting, one can paint or create patterns the way they want. One such way of creating patterns in a sketch or painting is Stippling where small or larger circular spheres are made of a different colour to create a texture in the painting.

To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this modern art form. Rajasthan Studio curated a stippling workshop and invited Arpita Dey.

Arpita Dey, a 22 year old who is a resident of Kolkata. With her art, she is on a quest to look out for peace, tranquility and brightness through colours and different patterns.

“Art transforms the mundane to the extraordinary”

Ever inspired by the spaces she inhabits, the places she visits and the people she meets, she enjoys freeing the captured images in my mind onto canvas. Her works are a translation of her tryst with the  diversity that is India. Versatility is her forte and she enjoys experimenting with various genres and mediums. She has displayed her paintings in several exhibitions and art displays across the country. She works on adorning  various houses across the country and worldwide.

Stippling Workshop Began

The workshop began with the artist introduction and Artist instructed to begin with the outline of a Tiger and then fill the outline with dots. With stippling we can create portraits, animals anything which you want to create. This is the fastest procedure to do the stippling art. Pointillism is the technique to do the intricate stippling. Art does not come with pressure the artist mentions and continues making the dots and fills up the composition. Start the dotting from the start till the end and fill it up with black color. Small stippling art works for the beginners will help a lot. Artist Instructed to make the patches slightly lighter with a little space so that it looks nice.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

At the end of the workshop the Artist instructed and completed the eyeball of the Tiger. Everyone enlightened the artist with their beautiful work where the artist gives a review of where they can improve and appreciate their effort and execution.

Artist displayed her artwork and She also displayed her other artworks and everyone enjoyed such a simple yet interesting workshop. The workshop was full of learnings and everyone was elated by the experience.

The attendees seemed immersed in the workshop and thanked Rajasthan studio as well as the artist for introducing them to such a unique art form.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
