Stipple Art & Watercolour Workshop By Suravi Sengupta

Stipple Art & Watercolour

Stippling is a technique that incorporates several small circles or dots in the same color to create a composition. These dots can be drawn, painted, or etched onto a surface using a variety of mediums. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special Stipple Art & Watercolour Workshop and invited Suravi Sengupta.

Suravi Sengupta is a self-taught artist from Calcutta, who believes ART can be “INKfectious” and heal the mind like a medicine. She is a Graphic Designer by profession, she loves to work with line-art and stippling techniques. She likes to challenge herself by pushing her comfort boundaries and explore various other mediums as well, thus creating a unique style.

Stipple Art & Watercolour Workshop Began

The workshop began with a stippling warmup exercise where the attendees had to make a freehand circle and fill the circle with dots. This warmup exercise was basically to help the attendees for better understanding of the art form and how to go about drawing 3D figures or add density to the painting.

Suravi showed the artwork which they were going to make during the workshop. It was a combination of stripling technique and watercolour. She used the wet on wet technique for the watercolour. Along with that she also instructed the participants how to go about drawing the moon.

Towards the end of the Workshop

Suravi helped everyone understand how to add gradients with watercolour. The workshop was very interactive and informative. She also guided the attendees on how to add stippling on the bookmark. The attendees were quite engrossed in the workshop and creating their art pieces. The Stipple Art & Watercolour Workshop ended with everyone showcasing their beautiful artworks.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, we take your leave. See you next time!
