Soft Pastels Workshop With Darshita

Soft Pastels workshop with Darshita

Pastels are made by mixing dry pigment with a gum binder and some filler to form a thick paste, which is fashioned into sticks and allowed to dry. These ingredients will differ based on pastel type and quality. Cheaper pastels will typically contain more binder and filler in the form of chalk or plaster. Artist-quality pastels tend to contain as much pigment as possible and very little filler, which is why they cost more and produce intense colors. Rooftop brings you a soft pastel workshop with Darshita to help you develop your pastel art skills.

About The Artist

Darshita is an artist by passion and a lawyer by profession. She discovered her artistic and creative side at the young age of six.

The Soft Pastels Workshop Began

Darshita greeted all the participants and thanked the host for the introduction. She first started by explaining various techniques such as mixing, layering, and feathering. She then sketched a macaw bird on the canvas. Darshita then colored the bird in shades of blue, green, and yellow. She then continued to smudge the colors after coloring the background purple, green, and blue concluding her artwork.

Towards the End Of The Workshop

Darshita created a beautiful and massive macaw bird. All the participants appreciated this blue-colored piece of art. They also showed their co-created artworks. Darshita also showed some of her other soft pastel artworks. The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The host thanked Darshita for her time and knowledge and concluded the workshop.
