Quilling Art Workshop With Shivani Sharma

Quilling art workshop

Quilling Art Workshop: Quilling is an art form that involves the use of paper strips that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Quilling starts with rolling a strip of paper into a coil and then pinching the coil into shapes that can be glued together. Rooftop curated a Quilling art workshop and invited Shivani Sharma. She is an interior designer by profession but an artist from a heart trying different kinds of art and crafts including paper quilling, string art, macramé and paintings in different mediums.

The Quilling Art Workshop Began

Shivani began the workshop by briefing all 19 participants about making a quilling dreamcatcher. She then began by drawing a big circle on the paper and sticking a green quilling strip over it. Shivani also demonstrated the making of petals and roses using quilling tools. Most of the circle members were working with the artist and enjoying the quilling art. Quilling the rose out of the paper strip was a tricky process and required special attention. Shivani was patient to look after the roses of each participant and also explained the process step by step a few times.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Towards the end of the workshop, Shivani carefully assembled all the leaves, petals and roses around the green strip that was the frame of the dreamcatcher. She also explained to the circle members how to add minute details to the dreamcatcher. Participants flashed their beautiful dream catchers on the camera.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off untill next time!
