Gouache is a pigment that is a combination of watercolour and acrylic paint, with an opaque, matte finish. Gouache is made from a mix of synthetic or natural pigments with binding agents such as gum, Arabic, and yellow dextrin, with chalk added to make the paint more effective.

To spread awareness about gouache painting among art lovers, Rooftop conducted a workshop on Gouache Painting with expert artist Anuja Bele.

About The Artist

Anuja Bele is a gouache and acrylic artist. She makes handmade bookmarks and takes customized orders through her Instagram account.

The Workshop Began

The workshop started with a brief introduction of Anuja and her experiences as an artist. Anuja was delighted to be a part of the session and thanked the hosts and participants of the workshop. She introduced the art of gouache painting and explained the artwork she was going to create.

Anuja first started colouring the canvas with red and yellow colours and painted the grass in light and dark shades of green. She then continued painting the pine trees, the grass, and flowers.

All her artworks were of different colours and shades. The artworks were aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

Towards The End Of The Workshop Began

Anuja made a landscape portrait of nature with light pink colour and yellow for the sunset. She added a tinge of green colour to the grass and the pine trees with little flowers on them. She also showed some of her artworks to all the attendees. The attendees enjoyed co-creating the artwork with her.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
