Origami builds patience, perseverance and precision. It will enhance memory and retention. Paper folding reaches hearts as well as minds. As students master the art of paper folding, it instills in them a sense of satisfaction from completing a model. As students feel successful, they will transfer it to other areas of learning. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this art form. Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Nihali Gardi.
Nihali is an origami artist based out of Mumbai. She has worked with a lot of stationery brands like Sundaram and Anupam. She has also taken a lot of workshops with institutions like IIT Madras. For her, it’s been very therapeutic and it helped her expand her 3D visualization and hand-eye coordination.
Papiroflexia Workshop Began
The Papiroflexia Workshop began with Nihali introducing herself and explaining what her work is all about. She gave the attendees a lot of facts and history about doodling with respect to coasters especially. All the attendees paid attention and noted all the key points.
She went to explain the different materials that were to be used. She explained what paper and alternatives would be best to use. Nihal taught the attendees to make different types of folds. She made sure that she was responding to all queries and questions.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
Nihali explained all the steps in detail. She made sure that she was explaining everything in an uncomplicated manner, and did not hesitate in repeating the steps. Moving on, she showed the materials that she uses. She even displayed an artwork that she had created before the attendees were very excited to showcase their work. The overall experience was very delightful and everyone was elated by the experience.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan Studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
