Motifs & Contemporary Pichwai Workshop By Moksharth Vora

Motifs & Contemporary Pichwai Workshop By Moksharth Vora

Pichwai is a traditional form of painting that depicts the storyline of Krishna. The art pays respect toward the deity Krishna. Using this art form with a contemporary twist is the very modern approach to Pichwai.

Therefore, to enlighten our Circle Members, Rajasthan Studio curated a Motifs & Contemporary Pichwai Workshop. The start artist for the workshop would be Moksharth Vora. He knows his way around this deconstructed approach towards the traditional form of painting.

The workshop will be a part of the Fusion series that will continue for two days. The idea behind the Fusion series is to give detailed and much more intricate learning of the art form.

Motifs & Contemporary Pichwai Workshop Began

Moksharth began the workshop with an introduction to this art form. Also, on a special request by the attendee, he mentioned the details about the difference between the traditional Pichwai art form and contemporary Pichwai artwork. The session began on an immensely insightful note.

He also gave a brief on the importance of this session and how it will be a unique experience for all the attendees. The traditional Pichwai was used to be painted on a cloth/material. Unlike in this session where the artist will give a takeaway on the modern approach of this artform through motifs and a newer look to ‘kalam talai’  that is a lotus pond.

Towards the end of the Workshop

The second day of the workshop was all about making Contemporary Pichwai with the motif drawn on the first day of the workshop. Towards the end of the workshop, all the attendees and the artist himself indulge in an interactive talk where they discussed queries, the art form, and showcased their work.

It was an interactive session.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
