Mixed Media Ocean Scene Workshop: Mixed media is an artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed. This art uses different media that will make use of different materials including cloth, paper, wood and found objects. To experience this form of art, Rajasthan Studio curated a Mixed Media Ocean Scene Workshop and invited Srikala Sundar, who is a very passionate artist turned fashion designer. At a very young age, she began her art journey with the help of her supportive family. She specializes in glass painting and works on many other art mediums. Srikala strongly believes. “Art has no rules and your only limit is you”.

The Mixed Media Ocean Scene Workshop Began

Srikala began the Mixed Media Ocean Scene experience by briefing about all the materials required for the artwork. All the 25 attendees carefully observed and made notes. The most important aspect of mixed media is the freedom of materials, almost anything and everything can be used in the artwork.

After briefing about the materials, Srikala began to demonstrate the ocean scene painting. She drew the outline for the seashore and the sea on the canvas using a pencil. Using sand she covered the seashore part of the painting, making it look realistic. Moving forward, using the colours teal, sky blue and white Srikala painted the oceanic waves. Adding the colour from dark to light tones, layer by layer she blended the colours to make it look more natural. She added seashells, broken coconut shell pieces, net and pebbles to make the oceanic scene more real.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

At the end of the workshop, three attendees had managed to complete their beautiful paintings. Srikala loved the paintings and the effort taken by the attendees. The attendees had created their own calming and soothing oceanic scene. The overall Mixed Media Ocean Scene experience was fun for all.

The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
