From dancing, vibrating, light-filled passages to richly coloured transparent darks, from cascading wet washes to staccato dry brush effects, watercolours can produce painting effects which no other medium can match. It is one of the most relaxing and therapeutic art forms which has no rules to be followed. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special Miniature Watercolour Painting Workshop and invited Samiksha Sharma.
Samiksha Sharma is 19 years old and is studying Engineering right now. She lives in Goa and she is a self taught watercolour artist. She has been doing art for 12 years. Art is meditation for her and she feels positive when she is with her painting tools. She enjoys doing watercolour painting.
Miniature Watercolour Painting Workshop Began
The workshop began with Samiksha Sharma giving a short introduction of herself. She shared the therapeutic benefits of watercolour painting. Further, she explained about the materials to select for this art form. She gave a gist of what is to be expected from the workshop. She also showcased and described some of her different styles of watercolour painting artworks.
Moving on, she explains about different layers and the techniques involved in painting a bookmark. Samiksha started with watercoloring and explaining each step of the process in elaborate and detailed manner. She showed how to play with the watercolours and how to make the artwork look more appealing. Adding to that, she even kept an open discussion for any queries from the attendees.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
Samiksha explained how to add detailing to the bookmark and different colour combinations that would make the artwork more aesthetically beautiful. She was very excited and happy to see the attendees engrossed in their artwork and following the instructions carefully. At the end of the workshop everyone had a beautiful watercolour painting to take away with themselves.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
