Mandala Alcohol Workshop By Apoorva Bhat

Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Buddhism, representing the cosmos and deities. Mandala which means ‘circle’ symbolises that everything is connected in the universe. Practicing this art form helps you heal your mind by letting your mind enter into a meditative state. Mandala art with a combination of alcohol inks is an even more soothing art process which is beyond amazing. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Apporva Bhat.

Apoorva Bhat started her art journey ten years ago. It all started when she was bored to life in a mathematics class and realising her true calling for art. Even though being clear about her art passion she followed a common path of getting a corporate job. But later she quit to follow her true passion and love for art that was to become a Mandala artist.

Mandala Alcohol Workshop Began

The Mandala Alcohol Workshop began with a short introduction of the artist following a brief description of what everyone will learn in the workshop. Moving forward, Apoorva gave a lot of insights on the materials to be used and the proportion of isopropyl alcohol to be used for the artwork.

Further she started with the artwork and explaining every step in a detailed manner. She explained how to work with the blending solution and how to get different shades. After working with the alcohol inks and creating a beautiful color combination for the background, Apporva started with the Mandala art over it. Explaining every step in detail the artwork was coming together as a beautiful art piece.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Explaining the measurements and different patterns of mandala the workshop was quite interesting and consuming. We were all in for a surprise when the artist Apoorva sang a beautiful song on request for everyone in her beautiful voice. The attendees seemed immersed in the workshop and creating their art works. The artist also shared a lot of tips and hacks for the art form. The workshop ended with everyone showcasing their colourful and vibrant works.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
