Knife Painting with Nikitha Kumar

Knife Painting workshop

Palette knife painting is the impasto technique of applying paint to the canvas using a painting knife. Master painters Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cezanne, Marc Chagal and Henri Matisse were known for using this method of painting. Many contemporary artists are now ditching brush painting and using palette knife painting in order to create paintings. These paintings are rich in texture and have a smooth blend of colours.

To make this art form popular among the masses, The Circle Community brought together a Knife Painting workshop with Nikitha Kumar.

About The Artist

Nikitha Kumar is a passionate artist and conducts art workshops from time to time. She also showcases her artwork on her Instagram handle @thenikiartsofficial.

The Workshop Began

The host introduced the guest of the day. Nikitha started freehand painting on a canvas with shades of blue and grey. She created a mixture using talcum powder and fevicol and started painting the trees and making branches with black colour. She further created the flowers using a light red colour and taught participants how to drag the knife brush.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Nikitha beautifully completed the cherry blossom portrait, which looked pleasing to the eye. All the attendees showed their beautiful artworks to Nikitha, who appreciated each of them for their efforts and dedication. The host thanked Nikitha for sharing her knowledge of this unique art form.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
