Kashmiri Art Workshop

Kashmiri Art is generally done on jewelry boxes, caskets, shawls and carpets. Maple leaves and flowers are significant motifs. Kashmiri artwork focuses majorly on intricacy. Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam are major centers manufacturing Kashmiri handicrafts. There are more than 15 types of Kashmiri crafts which utilize the motifs of maple leaves, flowers, twigs, animals, lotus blooms, animals and branches.

About The Artist

Kiran resides in Jaipur. She has been serving in the field of art for the last 5 years. She is fond of traditional artforms like Gond, Madhubani, Kashmiri, Lippan art.

The Workshop Began

The workshop began with Kiran explaining the unique process briefly involved in designing the metal box. She made home-made gesso by mixing talcum powder,white acrylic paint and fevicol in equal proportions. She began tracing the outline of the design with black marker, which was darkened with black colour pencil. She traced the outline again but this time with a Fevicryl metallic outliner. She carefully coloured the design, blending two vibrant Fevicryl glass colours.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Kiran provided a detailed explanation to all FAQs raised . All the attendees loved the beautifully designed box. Kiran suggested extra colour combinations and tips to improvise the artwork of the attendees. The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
