Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Hair Art Workshop By Himanshi Purohit

Hair Art Workshop

Hair Art Workshop: To create realistic portraits and figures, it is very important to draw the hair accurately. Keeping this in mind, Rooftop curated a Hair Art Workshop and invited Himanshi Purohit. She is currently in Hyderabad, working as an associate consultant.

Since 2016, she has been working as a professional sketching artist. Her art work is related to portraits, caricatures and she has also conducted sketching workshops and displayed her art in a lot of exhibitions.

The Hair Art Workshop Began

Himanshi started the workshop by elaborating the 20 attendees about the steps to draw hair perfectly. She eventually explained the sketching and blending techniques using graphite pencils. Using three kinds of pencils – H, 2B and 6B, she sketched the braid and blended with a earbud. She showed two hair styles – braid and bun which involved similar steps. She used the three different pencils to give different shading effects, thus creating more depth into her graphite art. The curious participants asked several questions regarding the pencils and the blending techniques. Himanshi answered all their queries patiently.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

At the end of the workshop, all the attendees had successfully sketched two kinds of hair art on their canvases. All the attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
