Greeting Card Workshop: A greeting card is an illustrated piece of cardstock or paper featuring an expression or sentiment. To contrive this technique with Diwali round the corner, Rajasthan Studio curated a Greeting Card Workshop and invited Saurabh Gogisetty, who is a postgraduate in Biological Science. He is a self-taught artist, very keen on experimenting and exploring art. Apart from art Saurabh is immensely passionate about photography.
The Greeting Card Workshop Began
Saurabh began the experience by explaining the different types of papers and stationery, while all the 25 attendees made notes. He briefed the attendees on how to form a perfect square out of an A3 paper. Moving forward he folded the square piece forming an envelope shape. Using a fevi-stick he glued the edges to fix the envelope shape. Meanwhile, the attendees experienced making their own envelopes.
After making the envelopes, Saurabh worked on the greeting card. Then, he used an A4 cartridge and folded it in two halves. Saurabh demonstrated to paint florals using watercolours to beautify the paper. Then, sing different combinations of strokes he developed the leaves and petals of the floral painting. He used crimson red for the flowers and sap green for leaves. Building on a layer over layer Saurabh defined the floral painting. He mentioned writing a customized handwritten note using calligraphy or any lettering style around the painting.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
At the end of the workshop, most of the attendees had completed their greeting cards and envelopes. The attendees were very excited to showcase their work over the camera. Saurabh looked at all of the unique painted greeting cards and appreciated each attendees work. The attendees were overjoyed to learn a quick artsy technique in a given time frame. The overall experience was fun and very useful for gifting purposes.
All the attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
