Gouache is a fast-drying, opaque acrylic-based watercolor paint. It’s water-soluble while wet, and water-resistant, matte and opaque, even over dark surfaces. It is a great artform for grounds and layering. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Disha Sikri.
Disha Sikri is an arts-based therapy practitioner, and an art passionate. She believes art speaks and heals us. She’s currently organizing art therapy workshops and art training workshops both. She loves to work with all mediums of art, she explores herself more with art. As it is rightly said, art is a journey of a free soul.
Gouache Portrait Workshop Began
Disha started the session by talking about gouache art and its background. She even spoke about her experiences. Disha went on to explain the different tools used in this art form. All the attendees paid attention and noted all the key points. She assured the attendees that she would cover maximum material in the time provided. Disha explained the different types of lines and strokes that are involved by highlighting the essence of understanding the same.
Disha drew a basic sketch of the portrait that the attendees were supposed to mimic. She also explained the technique of drawing strokes. She made sure she explained the techniques behind all strokes and drew them out beautifully.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
Disha explained the color combinations and brush strokes. All the attendees were successful in creating beautiful portraits. The attendees were very excited to showcase their work. The overall experience was delightful and everyone was elated by the experience.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan Studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
