Gouache, body color, or opaque watercolor, is one type of watermedia, paint consisting of natural pigment, water, a binding agent, and sometimes additional inert material. Gouache is designed to be opaque. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Umashree Taparia.

Umashree Taparia is a Chartered Accountant by profession, and an artist by heart! She has always been creative i.e making gifts and cards for her loved ones, but never took it so seriously as a profession until lockdown happened. She says that she is happy  at this moment as she has started taking art as a priority and since then it has become a part of her everyday life. It’s her best time of the day to relax and be at peace with herself. she adds that she has been trying to learn new mediums and techniques since then! The mediums she absolutely loves working with are Gouache and Watercolour.

Gouache Landscape Workshop Began

The workshop began with a short introduction of Umashree Taparia and her journey. Further Umashree  overtook the workshop and told the attendees about Gouache art. Later she also mentioned the materials everyone needed to complete the artwork with her.

Umashree started with blending the colours, while explaining and giving instructions to the attendees. Following that she also explained how to go about with each step, she also cleared all the doubt of the attendees.

Towards The End Of The workshop

The attendees were completely engrossed in their Gouache night landscape painting . The workshop ended with everyone showcasing their amazing Gouache night landscape painting. Umashree also showed so many of her paintings to the attendees.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
