Gouache Illustration Workshop By Nikkitha Venugopal

Gouache Illustrations

Gouache paint is a type of water-media, a pigment that has to be mixed with water in order to be spread across a surface. It is a type of paint that is opaque in nature. Gouache art has a rich and vibrant quality. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this ancient art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special Gouache Illustration Workshop and invited Nikkitha Venugopal.

Nikkitha is from Bangalore. She is an architect, an art lover and also a photographer. She started her journey a year and a half ago and it has been a very therapeutic experience for her since then. Nikkitha says it’s like the joy of colours and fun. She tries different mediums but watercolour and gouache is her favourite. There hasn’t been a single day where she hasn’t sat with her paints and brushes to learn something new and the results are truly rewarding. Through her art she wishes to spread happiness and motivate others.

Gouache Illustration Workshop Began

The Gouache Illustration Workshop began with Nikkitha explaining about the materials she is using for the art form. She made a sketch of the art form and then started doing the Gouache on it. Also, she was very elaborate about the colours she used and about the combinations.

She told the attendees few tips to make their art look more beautiful. Along with that she also defined the details to the members so they could get it more nicely done. The workshop was very interesting and the attendees seemed engrossed in learning the gouache techniques.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Towards the end Nikkitha had a look at everyone’s art and gave tips on how the participants can blend the colour and make it look more realistic. She was very happy watching all the attendee’s artwork. She even gave feedback to all of them about their artwork.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
