Gouache Art Workshop By Abinaya Devakumar

Gouche Art with Abhinaya Devakaumar

Gouache art is for all those opaque lovers who want something more steady & dense. Gouache body colour, or opaque watercolour is one type of water media, paint consisting of natural pigment, water, a binding agent. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this modern art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special Gouache Art Workshop and invited Abinaya Devakumar.

An architect and product designer by profession and a self-taught artist by the passion she started painting to find the little joys of life along with her 2-year-old kid. After a decade’s break, she again began to explore her love for art. For Abhinaya, art is joy, therapy, and a cherished dream.

“Amongst the hardships, art is one of the most beautiful ways in which we can lose ourselves to the colours of life”, is what she believes in. This is her small, but a proud contribution to add some colours and spark to all the art lovers out there.

Gouache Art Workshop Began

Gouache Art Workshop began with the introduction of the artist and some useful insights into gouache paint. Abhinaya later started with making a drawing box with pencil and paint and explaining every step in detail. Everyone followed the instructions clearly and worked along the artist.

Meanwhile, the artist also showed us another composition of a flower. Artist explained how to add more layering to the dried flowers which adds a 3D look to the piece. Abhinaya shared a lot of tips and techniques for gouache painting art.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

The attendees understood a lot about the shadows and highlights. The attendees learned layering techniques and the artist displayed her artwork which was done with layering techniques. She told that one who wants to excel with this can go for any technique in gouache. All the artists were consumed in completing their artworks. The overall workshop was a delightful experience and the workshop ended with everyone showcasing their beautiful artworks.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
