Food Art Illustration Workshop with Gayatri Prahlad

Food is an amazing subject matter for artwork as It is universal, appealing and, it stays still if you want to capture it. However, rendering food in your artwork isn’t a cakewalk. Adding edibles to your artistic sketch can be a challenge to your illustrations. Appealing food and creating an unappetizing mess. Adding humour and context to your food illustration can enhance your artwork.

About The Artist

Gayatri has always been passionate about visual artist and is a self-taught artist and began her art journey with acrylics.

The Workshop Began

Gayatri greeted all the participants and thanked the host for the lovely introduction. She drew the doughnuts on the canvas and went on to paint the bottom layer of the doughnut with the brown colour of all the four sketched doughnuts.  She first painted the first doughnut in pink colour, second in chocolate and with sprinkles on top. Towards The End Of The Workshop

Gayatri created a wonderful and delectable piece of food illustration of doughnuts of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla as a layer of 4 on top of each other. All the participants appreciated her dessert illustration and shared their co-created arts with Gayatri. The host thanked Gayatri for teaching this wonderful art form.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
