Origami is a famous ancient art form that originated in Japan and its name literally means folding paper. This art consists of folding a single sheet of square paper into a beautiful sculpture without even going through the processes of cutting, glueing, taping, and marking, thus making it fun and hassle-free. With the development of civilizations, Origami became very popular throughout the globe. The everyday artist is taking a deep dive into the world of this art to develop and innovate new methods and technologies.

Rooftop organized an amazing origami workshop for you to explore the deep and mystical world of the marvellous art form and invited expert artist Aditi Anuj to facilitate the session.

About The Artist

Aditi is an ardent art follower and loves to create crafts. Her love for art knows no bounds. Aditi is a double degree holder in textile design from the National Institute of Designing, Ahmedabad. She has been practising Origami craft for at least eight years and has garnered a lot of knowledge of the art form. She has conducted numerous workshops in prestigious art as well as architectural institutions across the country. Her recent claim to fame came from her works on the installations of the Netflix series Sacred Games. She loves to share her experiences with other art enthusiasts in the form of workshops and finds it fun and beneficial.

The Origami Workshop Began

The workshop began with a brief introduction of Aditi and her artistic journey. Aditi greeted and expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the attendees. She gave a glimpse into the artwork that she was going to create in the workshop and shed some light on the significance of the artwork and its history. Moving further, Aditi elaborated the use of the folding tool and laid emphasis on the use of it for a smooth creation of the artwork and with this, she started creating the artwork all from scratch. Aditi explained and demonstrated each step in a very detailed manner that made grasping easy for all the attendees. As the session moved further, Aditi created beautiful and mesmerizing artworks that motivated the participants.

Towards The End Of The Origami Workshop

As the workshop progressed towards completion, the attendees were able to create their artworks which they showcased to Aditi for her feedback, who found each of them very beautiful and full of effort. The workshop concluded with the attendees appreciating and thanking Aditi for teaching the whole art form in such a fun and easy manner. 

The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to various age groups, but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a positive and magical vibe altogether.
