Dot Mandala art was originated by the Buddhist monks. The monks practiced this art form to increase their focus and concentration and train the mind into a meditative state. It drives the inner calmness and patience of a person to transform your imagination onto paper and do this art form. Some of the many patterns of a Dot Mandala is inspired from the patterns of the cosmos and metaphorically shapes the soul. 

To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this ancient art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a Dot Mandala Workshop and invited Mayuri Malani.

“I dream in colors and configurations, I see my painting finished before I start the first stroke” a dreamer by heart Mayuri Malani sees patterns in her kitchen utensils and cardboard pieces. She finds Dot Mandala to be a stress buster. Started only two years ago she is now an amazing instructor and teaches the art towards peace to everyone.

Dot Mandala Workshop Began

The workshop began by a short introduction of our host Mayuri Malani. Firstly, she described about the kind of Mandala artwork which will be created in the workshop. She spoke about the kind of tools which is of use for this art form. She also shared how the same tools can be used for other different kinds of artwork.

The workshop went further with a discussion on how most of the participants wanted to travel back in time to their golden days. Mayuri Malani further informed about the origin of Dot Mandala Art and it being a collaboration between an Australian dot art  and the Indian mandala. She explained the cosmic meaning and the meditative value of the Dot Mandala Art.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

The workshop moved towards the end by all the participants covering their paintings with resin to preserve it forever. Mayuri answered a few more questions out up by the attendees. The workshop ended with everyone showcasing their work. 

The attendees were also from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
