Dazzling Blue Diya Holder Workshop With Swathi R Swamy

Dazzling Blue Diya Holder Workshop

Dazzling Blue Diya Holder Workshop: On the fifth day of Navratri, Rajasthan Studio curated a Dazzling Blue Diya Holder Workshop for its members,  the colour theme for the day being blue. To curate this experience, Rajasthan Studio invited Swathi R Swamy. She is the founder, designer and crafter at Sankrithi which specialises in handmade products. An MBA in Marketing by profession, her love for art and craft turned her into an entrepreneur and took her passion to another level.

The Dazzling Blue Diya Holder Workshop Began

Swathi began the workshop by briefing the attendees about the main components of making a diya holder with the decoupage technique. All the enthusiastic 35 participants dressed in shades of blue to virtually celebrate Navratri with Rajasthan Studio. She then took an MDF board and applied golden acrylic paint over it. Then, she applied the crackle medium on the MDF which was used to give an effect of cracks and a vintage look. The attendees followed Swathi patiently and worked along with her. Applying blue paint over it, she then let it dry for a few minutes and answered the queries of some of the attendees.

The attendees bombarded Swathi with several questions regarding the decoupage technique and the crackling mediums. Some of the participants also tried out substitutes for crackling medium and surprised Swathi. After the paint dried up, Swathi stuck the printed motifs onto the board to decorate it. She also decorated the diya holder with Kundan stones. To give a more festive look to the diya holder, she gave finishing touches with golden glitter.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

By the end of the workshop, most of the participants had successfully created dazzling blue diya holders using the decoupage technique. They enthusiastically showed their beautiful diya holders on the screens and left Swathi awestruck with their creativity.

The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
