The term collage comes from the French term papiers collés (or découpage), used to describe techniques of pasting paper cut-outs onto various surfaces. It was first used as an artists’ technique in the early twentieth century. Collage can also include other media such as painting and drawing and contain a three-dimensional element. Collage is basically the technique and the resulting work of art in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric are arranged and stuck down onto a supporting surface.

About The Artist

Suneera ‘s art journey started young under the guidance of her mother. She learnt and explored different artforms and is passionate about the arts. She is from Mangalore.

The Workshop Began

Suneera greeted all the participants and thanked the host for the lovely introduction. She created a cutout of flowers from newspapers and stuck them on the canvas and started to paint them in different colours. She first painted the flower in blue, green for the stem along with purple and blue for the background and made a beautiful Collage watercolour of flowers.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Suneera made flower cutouts from the newspaper and added blue colour as she painted blue colour for the petals, green for the leaves and purple for the canvas. All the participants appreciated her collage painting and showed their co-created Collage Watercolour Art. The host thanked Suneera for teaching this colourful art form.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
