Charcoal art is a form of dry art that is made of finely grounded organic material which is held together by a gum or wax binder. For this art form, charcoal is used by artists owing to its versatility. Charcoal produces lines that are light or intensely black. Various types of charcoal are used for the medium of art such as vine charcoal, willow charcoal, compressed charcoal, charcoal pencils, and crayons.
To learn more about this art form, The Circle Community conducted a Charcoal Art workshop with expert artist Sejal Mehta.
About the artist
Sejal Mehta is a charcoal artist who specializes in painting. She also conducts workshops and takes portrait pet orders.
The Workshop Began
The workshop began with an introduction of Sejal and her journey into the world of art. Sejal greeted all the participants dearly and gave a background about charcoal art.
Sejal started explaining about charcoal art by drawing a butterfly and explained the types of pencils to be used for the process. She recommended using specific pencils for sketching and started charcoal sketching by rubbing it for extra finishing.
Towards the end of the workshop
At the end of the session, every participant was successfully able to create their own charcoal art. The artist and the participants both enjoyed the fun art workshop. A sense of joy could be clearly seen on their faces.
The attendees were from different parts of the country but their love for art brought them to one platform. The Circle Community, like always, was successful in connecting artist
s with art lovers by creating a memorable experience and positive vibe.
