Character Design Workshop: Character Design or the study of characters is used to standardize the appearance, poses, and gestures of a character in arts such as animation, comics, and video games.  To experience the style of character design, Rajasthan Studio curated a Character Design Workshop and invited Kirti Vyas. She is a self-taught artist who has turned her passion and love for art to her profession. She has explored various art forms like knife painting, dot painting, fluid painting, wall painting and digital painting.

The Character Design Workshop Began

Kirti began the experience by explaining how the character is the portrait of personality. She then explained to all the 20 participants the two types of character design – The figurative and Cartoon Style. Further, Kirti explained the colour wheel in parts – The primary, secondary and tertiary colours and how colour can define characters. Then she explained and demonstrated how to form characters. Kirti started to draw cheese and macaroni characters.

Kirti demonstrated to add the eyes, nose and mouth adding more definition to the character. Most of the attendees drew along with her. Once everyone had completed drawing, Kirti used watercolours to fill in the colours. She used bright colours like yellow, orange and red making the characters lively. While outlining she shared some very useful hacks to correct any mistakes while painting.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

At the end of the workshop, most of the attendees were ready with their quirky yet cute cheese and macaroni characters. She looked at all the characters over the camera and appreciated each attendees attempt at character design.

All the attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
