Brush calligraphy is a style of writing that is very similar to calligraphy. With each alphabet, heavy pressure is applied towards the downward stroke as lighter strokes are applied for upper strokes. It is an umbrella term for calligraphy that is created with a brush. Brush calligraphy is also known as modern calligraphy. To make the Circle family aware of this unique art form, The Circle Community conducted a workshop with Celeste Vennel.

About the artist

Celeste Vennel is a dentist by profession and a calligraphy artist by passion. She began her creative journey in calligraphy in July 2020 during the lockdown as an amateur in brush lettering. She came across a post on calligraphy and wanted to learn more about this beautiful art form. Vennel now conducts workshops and has started her own calligraphy academy.

And the workshop began

The workshop began on an enthusiastic note as Celeste Vennel beautifully shared her knowledge and taught the attendees the art form in a simple and easy-to-learn method. Everybody enjoyed experimenting with different strokes while working on their calligraphy designs. Celeste taught the art form in an interesting way, keeping the participants focussed while they worked on their creations.

Towards the end of the workshop

The attendees had a lovely time learning about calligraphy and brushing their creative and artistic skills. Participants from various age groups happily showed their calligraphy skills and learned this craft form in such a short period. The host asked Celeste Vennel to pose for a group picture and concluded the artistic and fun workshop.

The participants were from different parts of India and also belonged to different age groups. But their love and passion for art brought them together on a single platform. TCC, as always, was successful in curating a fun session to be cherished forever.

On this note, here‘s us signing us off until next time.
