Art journaling, also known as a visual diary, is a record-keeping book that is combined with visual creativity to pen down one‘s thoughts, emotions and memories through the medium of images, words, and art. Art journaling helps one to exercise their creative muscles and allows them to experiment with their creativity, free as a flying bird.

To learn about this art form, The Circle Community conducted an Art Journaling Workshop with Garima Chandel.

About the artist

Garima Chandel is an educator, philosopher and art therapist. She is passionate about journaling, acrylic art, mandala and abstract painting.

The Workshop began

Garima explained how art journaling is free for creativity and helps one express themselves unapologetically with their feelings and emotions. She advised the participants on how to show their arts on one page and their feelings and emotions on the other. Chandel started shading in cobalt blue on a page of the book and applied a shade of purple to teach how quotes can be used in creating art journaling. Garima encouraged and appreciated the creative work of the participants and shared her work with the participants.

Towards the end of the workshop

All the participants drew their art journals, which were colourful and aesthetically pleasing. Garima was overwhelmed with the dedication and hard work of every attendee and motivated everyone to indulge in art more often.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
