Sharing Folk Tales of Vikram & Betal with Phad Painting

Presented by S.V. Public School, Jaipur as a part of Phad Se Padh initiative

Participant’s Experience

Phad is a style of religious scroll painting and a folk painting practised in the Rajasthan state of India. This style of painting is done on a long piece of cloth known as a Phad. We all know that rote learning is usually practised for studying but using painting to learn subjects like science, GK, and Maths was also an experience. Let me give you an example, we used Phad painting to explore the story of Vikram Betal during the Jaipur History Festival at City Palace. The slogan of the festival was Phad se Padh. I would always wait for these types of programs which will always help me to build my character and career.
