Relief Art Workshop With Vinita Lohra

Relief Art Workshop

Relief Art Workshop: A Relief in Art means sculptural elevation technique where the sculpted elements remain attached to a solid background of the same material. The term relief finds its etymology in Latin: a verb relevant which means to raise. Rooftop curated a Relief Art Workshop with Vinita Lohra. She is working in the field of art for the past 20 years. Along with that, she has teaching experience in various art forms including Pichwai Painting, Paper mashie and Clay work.

The Relief Art Workshop Began

Vinita started the workshop by elaborating on Relief art. Taking a plywood board, she began with the motif of the day. She made a paste with marble powder mixed with fevicol. Next, she spread the paste on the board evenly. Subsequently, after drying, she started drawing designs on the board with a pencil. Making a cone out of paper and pouring a similar marble dust paste, she started outlining the design she had drawn prior so that it gives an elevated effect to the design. In the last step, Vinita added colour to the design to make it look vibrant.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

The attendees were loaded with lots of information about a new kind of artform, namely Relief art. The participants asked various questions and took notes accordingly so that they can try out this unique art form.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

With this note, here’s us signing off!
