Quilling Workshop: Quilling is a type of art form wherein strips of paper are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Paper quilling projects can be used to decorate cards, boxes, gift bags, picture frames etc. Rooftop curated a Quilling Workshop and invited Khyati Bhatia to teach this papercraft. She is a Chartered Accountant by profession and an artist by heart. She specializes in making popup photo boxes, macrame planters, dreamcatchers, jewellery stands, paper cut art, 3D glow boxes, paper crafts and advanced origami.
The Quilling Workshop Began
Khyati taught the technique of quilling to all our 65 participants who joined us for the experience. Using a quilling tool, she first rolled the paper to create flower petals. Step by step she also taught the technique to create a flare with paper. Glueing them, she made a beautiful flower which can be used as a decorative piece as well as a fridge magnet.
The participants consisted of youngsters who were very curious to learn about quilling. They worked with dedication to catch up with Khyati’s speed. Due to time constraints, some of the young participants who were new to this kind of art form, could not complete their paper craft. But Khyati motivated them to keep practising so that they could eventually get the hang of quilling.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
Khyati responded to all the queries of the participants immediately and helped them learn the art of quilling. She also shared several tips and tricks about this interesting art form. At the workshop’s end, most participants could successfully create paper flowers just like Khyati had made. Some participants even gave their own touch of creativity and impressed Khyati.
Learning, imparting, connecting and staying creative is our motto at Rooftop and that’s the reason why we keep organizing various art workshops every day.
