Chapter 4: Gond Painting Advanced Course

Welcome to the Advanced Course! Here, Shri Kalyan Joshi ji explains the complex collaterals and traditions of Phad art painting.

1. Advanced Artwork Sketching

Follow the artist as he teaches in simple steps the sketching of a complex composition of Phad art motifs that portrays human figures, animals, musical instruments and much more.

2. Advanced Artwork Colouring

The key takeaway of this module is understanding colour placement and filling of intricate motifs to keep the balance in your Phad painting.

3. Advanced Artwork Outline

This module covers the technique of final touches and outlining of your Phad art painting. At the end of this module, your Phad art will be ready!

About Artist

National Awardee Shri Kalyan Joshi Ji hails from a family of Phad painters dating back to the 13th century. This established artist from Bhilwara, Rajasthan started painting Phad at the tender age of eight under his father Shri Shri Lal Joshi Ji’s tutelage. He is responsible for keeping traditional Indian art relevant in the current world with his contemporary take on the Phad art form.
