National Awardee Shri Kalyan Joshi Ji hails from a family of Phad painters dating back to the 13th century. This established artist from Bhilwara, Rajasthan started painting Phad at the tender age of eight under his father Shri Shri Lal Joshi Ji’s tutelage. He is responsible for keeping traditional Indian art relevant in the current world with his contemporary take on the Phad art form.
