Persian Illumination Workshop By Mariyah Farooqui

Persian Illumination

Art is one of the best ways of presenting oneā€™s emotions and connecting to the divinity of nature. It trains our mind and eyes and helps in making our imagination come alive. Persian art is one of the richest art heritages in the world and has been practised strongly in many media.

To bring the Rooftop family closer to the heritage of Persian art, we organized an amazing workshop and invited expert artist Mariyah Farooqui to facilitate the session.

About The Artist

Mariyah Farooqui is a devoted artist who has been performing art for a very long time. For her, art is never created in isolation. She is a self-taught artist and also works under several artists all around the world. Her art depicts a unique relationship between humanity and divinity as she has been following different arts like Persian illumination, sacred geometry, and Arabic calligraphy.

The Workshop Began

The workshop began with a brief introduction to Mariyah and her experiences. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the attendees. She then went on to demonstrate the art form and explained each step in a very detailed manner also addressing all the doubts of the participants. The attendees were very engrossed in the process and enjoyed it to the fullest while co-creating their own artwork.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

As the workshop was approaching its end, the attendees were very delighted with the process and were able to create their own art pieces that they showed to Mariyah for feedback, who found each of them very beautiful and full of effort. The workshop was very interesting and ended on an appreciative note for both Mariyah and the hosts.

The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to various age groups. Though their love and passion for art brought them together on one platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in curating an amazing experience for you as all.

On this note, hereā€™s us signing off until next time!
