Pencil Watercolor Painting Workshop: Watercolour is an ancient form of painting in which colours are mixed with water on the brush to communicate a message through the canvas. It is considered to be one of the most primitive types of painting. Rooftop curated a Pencil Watercolor Painting Workshop and invited Nancy Arora who added a twist to the traditional watercolour painting. Instead of using paint and brushes, Nancy used Pencil Watercolors and a brush. Nancy is an IT professional who loves experimenting with different art forms. Being a nature lover, there are always small elements of nature present in her artwork.Ā
The Pencil Watercolor Painting Workshop Began
As most participants were using pencil watercolours for the first time, Nancy began the workshop by drawing a rough sketch with a regular pencil and later covered the pencil marks with watercolour pencils. āIt is your canvas and you can draw whatever and however you like. In art there is no right or wrongā was Nancyās advice to all 26 attendees. Next, Nancy taught the technique of giving a watercolour effect to the pencil drawing. She simply added little water to the tips of the thin paintbrush and started stroking the brush over the pencil lines.Ā
A couple of participants had a common query if they could use regular pencil colours and get the same effect. Nancy, in detail, explained the difference between Pencil Watercolors and normal pencil colours.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
While giving the final touch to the painting, Nancy suggested circle members move the brush in a single direction to avoid the water patches and provide depth to the painting.Ā The circle members were fast learners and grasped the art of pencil watercolour painting quickly. At the end of the workshop, all the participants showcased their works on the camera and left Nancy awestruck!
Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
