Madhubani art is a style of Indian painting, practiced in the Mithila region of the Indian subcontinent. Painting with acrylics can be rewarding, easy and fun. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Soumya Das.
Soumya is a textile designer, she also took up a seven-year fine art coarse, she has studied African art as well. Soumya has worked with world recognized brands like Versace and Ritu Kumar. She is very passionate when it comes to art.
Painting Skies with Acrylics Workshop Began
Soumya began the Painting Skies with Acrylics workshop by listing the colours which were required to complete the artwork and gave a brief description of what they were going to do in the workshop. She explained how to paint a canvas with a base colour and began sketching with a pencil on the canvas.
Soumya created an outline with the darkest portion and then filled it up for an added effect. With the same brush, she applies another colour following the same technique as before. Furthermore, also briefed attendees on how to create a fading colour effect with acrylic colours.
Towards the end of the Workshop
Soumya taught the attendees how to create silhouette effect and the attendees were able to follow her instructions. The workshop was very informative and gripping. The attendees had some queries which were welcomed by Soumya. The Painting Skies with Acrylics workshop ended with everyone showcasing their beautiful artworks.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
