Fabric Painting Workshop with Sivanvitha

Paint Your Fabric workshop by Sivanvitha

Fabric painting lets one open up their creativity and produce art due to its versatility to work on fabric and textiles. It allows one to customize clothes, textiles, fabric and painting. Fabric painting is mainly used for textiles. Rooftop conducted an informative and engaging workshop on fabric painting with expert artist Sivanvitha.

About The Artist

Sivanvitha is a former teacher by profession and is now a full-time mother. She recently got back to her passion for art and has restarted painting. She has been practising the art of painting for 2 years now and pursues it full time.

The Fabric Painting Workshop Began

The workshop began with an introduction of Sivanvitha and her experiences as an artist. Sivanvitha heartily welcomed all the attendees of the workshop and shared her knowledge of fabric painting with them.

Sivanvitha showed one of her creations of a flower and half lemon and started sketching a flower on the fabric. She explained how one must start painting the exterior of the design, going ahead with the interior. She painted textile medium on the leaves and mixed shades of brown and light green. Sivanvitha then double loaded her brush with burned cynia and double yellow colour for the lemon. Sivanvitha showed all her colourful creations to the participants.

Towards The End of The Fabric Painting Workshop

As the workshop progressed, all the attendees showed their lovely fabric paintings to Sivanitha, who was delighted to see the wonderful color creations and appreciated the effort. She also showcased one of the fabric paintings she had made on her daughterā€˜s T-shirt. The workshop ended on a happy and appreciative note.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.Ā

On this note, hereā€™s us signing off until next time!
