Ornate Mini Mandala Workshop With Anmol Gauhar

Ornate Mini Mandala Workshop: Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means circle. Mandalas generally have one identifiable centre point, from which emanates an array of symbols, shapes and forms. Unlike the black and white Mandalas, Ornate Mini Mandals are small colourful mandala designs. Rooftop hosted a Diwali special workshop on Ornate Mini Mandala for its Circle Members and invited Anmol Jauher.

Anmol is an Architecture graduate who explored this Art form while she was studying Architecture. Little did she know that she would end up following her forever passion for Art even after graduating. Anmol has 4+ years of experience in Mandala Art and has worked using various mediums.Ā

The Ornate Mini Mandala Workshop Began

Before starting the workshop, Anmol briefed circle members about how Orname Mandala is different from the regular Mandala. ā€œIn regular Mandalas, we have complex geometrical in black and white colours, whereas Ornate Mandalas have intricate designs with more colours to itā€, said Anmol. She began drawing a circle of one centimetre and increasing the size of the next circle by one. In total, she drew seven circles and taught members how to draw basic mandala shapes. Most of the participants were drawing along the host artist and had a few queries like the appropriate pen to be used and the colours that can be filled to the ornate mandala. Anmol patiently answered all the questions.Ā

Towards The End Of The Workshop

After the completion of the mandala design, to make it look more intricate she gave an outline to all the patterns and filled it with bright vibrant colours like pink, blue and purple. To enhance the design more she filled the borders with a golden pen. The final output was appealing to the eyes and meditative to the mind.

Rooftop was successful in the curation of the Diwali special Mandala workshop and bringing together artists from pan India and different age groups on a common virtual platform.Ā

On this note here’s us signing off until next time!
